EC2

This week we have completed migrating all our sites to the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). Falcon, Effectus, and our website are all running on EC2 and using S3 (Amazon Simple Storage) for backup. This setup has two main advantages compared to our previous hosting setup: scalability and reliability. The EC2 offers extreme scalability making possible to spawn more server instances on-demand. It also makes it easy to implement redundancy. Finally, using S3 makes it easy to enforce reliable backups.
